Edward Iordanescu had nine spells with eight different clubs in just nine years before taking the national team job in 2022. He enjoyed success during his two stints as Cluj manager, winning the Super Cup in 2018 and 2020 before winning the league a year later. His father, Anghel, won 57 caps for Romania and managed them on three separate occasions.
