Hosts Germany overcame a plucky Denmark side as well as a lightning storm to book their place in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win in Dortmund. After both sides had a goal chalked off by VAR, Kai Havertz put Germany in front with a superb penalty in the 53rd minute, with the spot-kick awarded after a review. Jamal Musiala made sure of the result with a cool finish in the 68th minute for his third goal of the tournament.

Switzerland have knocked out defending champions Italy in a deserving fashion, winning 2-0 in Berlin, to reach the quarter-finals. Remo Freuler opened the scoring in the 37th minute before Ruben Vargas curled in a beauty just 27 seconds into the second half to seal the win. Italy struggled throughout with Fabian Schar heading against his own post being the closest they came to scoring a goal.

Willy Sagnol is in a relaxed mood ahead of the last-16 clash with Spain as Georgia have "already won the European Championship" by reaching the knockout stages on their debut at a major tournament.
