Didier Deschamps has admitted that Kylian Mbappe was not quite at his peak in the quarter-final penalty-shootout win over Portugal but has downplayed concerns over his star player's fitness ahead of Tuesday's semi-final. "It was nothing, there's no point in him staying on the pitch with a bad feeling," the France boss said. "We did everything we could to get him back to full fitness, and I'm convinced he's been at his best since the start."

Netherlands defender Ian Maatsen has returned to training with the rest of Ronald Koeman's squad. The left-back, who is still to make his senior debut for the national team, missed Saturday's 2-1 quarter-final win over Turkey due to illness but was able to play a full part in Sunday's recovery session at the team's training base and will be available for Wednesday's semi-final against England.

Ousmane Dembele is poised to replace Griezmann in the starting line-up following his lively performance from off the bench against Portugal.
